Race for the galaxy: still a lot of fun, even if I'm not that good at it.
Red Dragon Inn: Absolutely hilarious. D&D themed, about drinking, with hysterical flavortext. No actual strategy, which means Dave might play it, though I don't think I actually want a copy.
Powergrid: Ooh, I like this one. Building power plants in the Netherlands. Simple mechanics, lots of fun different boards. Endgame comes earlier than I'd expected, which I should remember. Most games do this -- I minimax for a game about twice as long as they actually are, and thus lose. Powergrid has a nice keep-everyone-in balancing mechanic. And some math, but less than, say, Outpost.
**My friends are all geeks. Jokes involving the cheesecake cupcakes got, er, out of hand. And then suddenly we were singing unfortunate things. And we haven't even gotten to the part where we get out the alcohol.
EDIT: bonus meme. There was that take-a-photo-right now meme a while back, and I didn't have a camera, and I just realized that with the new laptop, now I do. So under the cut, have a really terrible picture of me.
